After another short hiatus, we gathered at Judy's to discuss Soft Rain by Cornelia Cornelissen. Judy provided various pre-packaged food and drink and we once again met outdoors. Annie, Christe, Ellen, Jo, Judy, Liz, and Nanc attended. Annie brought her laptop and zoomed with her former student, Laney, who is currently a Native American Studies major. Laney shared with us a map that she created which showed the tribal boundaries in Oklahoma in the mid 1800s.

I found the book interesting. It was published in 1999. So it did share some Native American history even at that time. But it seemed like the ending was "happily ever after with new houses and good fishing." Resettlement was just the beginning of more heartbreak. And interesting that the author was from the Netherlands.
