Meeting: August 11, 2016

Ellen hosted our August meeting to discuss Deep Water Passage by Ann Linnea. Ellen provided many delicious homemade dips among a variety of snacks. Those in attendance included Annie, Ellen, Jo, Judy, Julie, Linda, and Nanc.

View from Ellen's
Our non-book discussion ranged from Jo's trip to Ireland, Annie's summer in Alaska where she saw about a dozen Orca frolicking, which was a sacred moment for her, Judy's PAW cycling trip to the northwoods and her black eye (which had nothing to do with her trip), Julie's now properly operating internet service, and Annie's flower essence (a product of sun, water, flower, and intention).

There were varying views on the degree of enjoyment of Ann Linnea's spiritual journey, although it seemed that everyone respected the physical challenge Ann faced in completing the arduous journey circumnavigating Lake Superior.

For me, this story stands out as a very different journey from One Woman's River, not only because it was on Lake Superior rather than the Mississippi, but also because of the poignant window into her inner spiritual transformation. ~ Jo Smith

I'm including some photos from a bicycling trip with Jo and Judy, which included some stops along Lake Superior in places that Ann Linnea mentioned in the book. The water was pretty calm on these days!
